King tides
Astronomical high-water periods, local timing and observed-vs-predicted context.
What the radar can say
“King tide” is an informal name used for especially high astronomical tides. Local official projects may publish event dates, while NOAA station predictions show the actual high-water timing for a nearby gauge.
What it cannot say
CoastEventRadar does not label every high tide a king tide. It shows the local station prediction and its rarity, while linking users to official state or local event programs where a named king-tide season exists.
