High-surf signals
Live buoy wave height and dominant period, paired with official NWS alerts when available.
What the radar can say
Wave height alone does not describe a surf event. Period, direction, local bathymetry and shoreline exposure matter. CoastEventRadar uses buoy height and dominant period only as a viewing-interest signal.
What it cannot say
Never use the score to decide whether entering the water is safe. Official NWS and local beach warnings take priority.
