Extreme tides
High and low water that is unusual relative to the next month at the same station.
What the radar can say
A tide number is more useful when you know whether it is ordinary or exceptional. CoastEventRadar ranks NOAA high/low predictions within the same station’s upcoming window so an unusually high or low event stands out.
What it cannot say
This is a rarity comparison, not a flood forecast. Weather, pressure, wind setup, waves and river flow can push observed water away from the astronomical prediction.
